The Wavy Blouse is built around one idea: genuinely comfortable to wear, but still made to flatter. It sits relaxed and slightly cropped, ending just below the waist, with a gently scalloped hem and soft gathered puff sleeves finished with elastic. The booklet walks you through finding the fit you love, whether that's fitted and close to the body or roomy and relaxed.
Pattern difficulty
Beginner friendly. Construction includes a front placket, gathered sleeves with elastic casing, a neck facing, and buttonholes. No zippers, no French seams, seams are finished with an overlocker or a zigzag stitch.
Fabric recommendations
What you're looking for is a fabric with body, so the scalloped hem holds its shape instead of drooping. Loved fabrics: medium to heavy weight linen and linen blends, cotton and cotton blends, (quilted) bedspreads for that little extra body, cotton slubs, and cotton jacquard. Avoid thin, floppy fabrics like simple gauze, voile, or delicate embroidered fabrics, they don't have the body to hold the wave.
