The Sandy Short is built around one idea: genuinely comfortable to wear, but still made to flatter. It's high-waisted, hugging your lower back and waist before moving slightly outward for room to move. The upper part of the short curves gently inward, this is what keeps the waist defined instead of disappearing under a bulky band. The booklet includes a three-step method to find your perfect size.
Pattern difficulty
Beginner friendly. Construction includes curved side seams, an elasticated waistband, and optional buttonholes for drawstring ties. No zippers, no French seams, seams are finished with an overlocker or a zigzag stitch.
Fabric recommendations
What you're looking for is a fabric with a little natural give, so the short slides easily over the hips and settles into its fit. Loved fabrics: the cotton slub double gauze, linen and linen blends, cotton and cotton blends, and jacquard cotton or linen. Give it a gentle stretch and scrunch, that'll tell you more than the fabric name alone.
